IDTI TEACHING FACULTY BIOS
 
  • JACKIE BALIGIAN began her dance training at the age of 13 in Warwick, R.I. at the Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio. After graduating from California State University, L.A with a degree in Theatre Arts & Dance, she moved to NYC where she became a scholarship student at the Broadway Dance Center. While studying at BDC Jacqueline was hired to co-direct the children's dance program. Since then, Jacqueline has taught around the world including England, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Her students have appeared in commercials, at Disney World , on Broadway, numerous television shows , and as Radio City Music Hall Rockettes.   Currently Jacqueline travels all across the country as a master class teacher, choreographer, and competition judge. Her choreography has won numerous awards and cash prizes. In the October issue of Dance Spirit magazine , Jacqueline was voted one of the most popular judges/instructors of 2006.   Most notably Jacqueline has recently completed work assisting Sheila Barker on "Invitations to a Dancer", a show starring Savion Glover to be performed at the Joyce Theater in NYC

  • ROCHELLE HAYNES is a Dallas Texas native who has been dancing since the age of 3.  She received a BFA in Modern dance from the University of the Arts.  Ms. Haynes teaches at various studios in Philadelphia and New Jersey.  In her 10th year of teaching, she is honored to be on faculty at University of the Arts and Tap Guest in residence at Moravian College.  Ms. Haynes became a principal dancer of Tap Team Two & Company in 1997, traveling the United States performing and teaching the history of tap.  She has taken the stage with tap greats Germaine Ingram and Nicole Hockenberry in DanceBoom 2005 in Philadelphia and performed a tribute to LaVaughn Robinson at the Tap Extravaganza in New York City.

  • DANIELLE MCGILLIGAN is from Ridley Pennsylvania.  She graduated from the University of the Arts with a BFA in Jazz Dance.  While attending school she performed in numerous ensembles including works by Ronen Koresh and Rennie Harris.  She has also performed in the Philly Fringe Festival.  Danielle is a teacher and choreographer sharing her talents in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, and Hip Hop.  She has taught many workshops throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey including Villanova University.  Danielle has appeared in a "Sleep over in Philadelphia" commercial, a video for the MTV Video Music Awards featuring singer, Ne-Yo, choreographed by Wade Robson, and has  traveled to Beijing, China with a select group of dancers to perform in their International Cultural Festival.  She is a member of a Hip Hop group, "Point Blank", with whom she performs throught the United States.  Danielle is also a member of Project Moshen Dance Company which is based out of Philadelphia.

  • LINDSEY RHOADES started her dance career in Aston, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Southern New Jersey Academy of the Performing Arts in 2005 under the instruction of David Kloss, former principal dancer of the Pennsylvania Ballet. She went on to further her dance education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In her 20 years of dance, Lindsey has grown into the seasoned teacher, choreographer and performer she is today. Her expertise in jazz and contemporary has taken her all over the U.S., landing her in two off Broadway shows, as well as a season on FOX Television. Since she started teaching and choreographing, her works have won numerous high score and special awards, as well as the prestigious "Choreography" award. One of her greatest accomplishments was being awarded the FDC judges choice award award in 2010. She was also chosen to be a dancer for the recording artist Ashanti and has been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine. She recently worked as an assistant to choreographer Kacy Combs on the "WILD" dance convention. She has worked with choreographers such as Dan Karaty, Wade Robinson, Nick Lazzarini, and Mandy Moore. Winning her first national title at age 8, Lindsey has continued to have success in her career, teaching workshops and master classes and judging talent competitions across the east coast. Lindsey recently completed her first season as a "soulmate" dancer for the Philadelphia Soul AFL football team (the team recently won the AFL arena bowl championship ). She hopes to continue to influence the young dancers of today and use her knowledge to help shape the future for those too, who dream to dance.
